Tribute to Pat Allan - RIP
Written by - Dan Wade on 17/04/2018

Many of you younger player’s/member’s won’t know Pat Allan but I know a few of our older members still keep updated on the website and unfortunately Pat has recently passed away.

Pat Allan had a long involvement with Millbrook Rugby Football Club. As a local councillor for many years in the Redbridge area he was also a Governor of Millbrook School - from where the club grew. He was also Mayor of Southampton in 1980. Two of his sons attended the school, one of them - Tony - also played a leading role as a founder member and also Captain for a number of years. In the early days the club played all of its matches and socialised at Millbrook School. They then started looking at the land at Lordshill with a view to having rugby pitches their and building their own club house. This was Council land and all the work would be undertaken by the Council. Pat was absolutely indispensable in guiding the club in the right direction and getting other councillors ‘on our side’. Had it not been for Pat it is most unlikely that these facilities would not have come in to being. He has been a Life Vice-President of the club for a long number of years.
