Written by - Dan Wade on 07/11/2014

TONIGHT, Friday 7th November, Millbrook RFC are holding a floodlit evening game to mark the installation of their brand new floodlights.

Millbrook RFC, who play their games at 5 acres, were able to obtain the floodlights with the help of the RFU and Southampton City Council alongside some internal fundraising.

A select Millbrook RFC consisting of 2nd XV players and a few vets will be playing against a Hampshire Invitiational XV, with the Hampshire side including players from several local clubs; to whom Brook are very grateful for their attendance.

The event is also being marked with members past and present being invited as well as local VIP's.

The "Big Switch On", as it's being dubbed, sees the lights turned on 6.30pm, a youth team curtain raiser at 6.45pm with the senior game kicking off at 7.15pm.

The evening is an open event for any of those interested to come along!!

Quote from Chairman, Gordon Race regarding Friday;

And if Tonight's events weren't enough....

Millbrook host Surrey 3 side Old Georgians in a RFU Junior Vase game in Saturday. Old Georgians are a recently formed team and won Surrey 4 comfortably last season in their first year as a club. They are now impressing in Surrey 3, currently sitting 2nd with only the 1 loss against their name.

Brook are in a strong position in Hampshire 1 and this weeks squad welcomes the return of powerful second row Ryan Jones and front row Leon Brito but are still without a number of regular first teamers who are out injured, most recently winger Nathan Phippen.

Kick off 2.30pm .... All welcome to come and cheer on the team!
